Parkinson's CHAMP

Team: Big Daddy Kane
Location: New York
Walking since: 2015
Money raised: $125,279.00

Why I/We Walk:
My father was diagnosed with Parkinson’s 18 years ago and we walk for him and everyone affected by this disease. We walk to raise money for research, with the understanding that every dollar we raise goes directly to Parkinson’s research and impacts patients.

Fun Facts About Us:
We love how every team makes its own personal fashion statement for the PUW. I believe we pioneered (or like to think we did) customized headbands as our team’s personal touch and they’re always a big hit with whoever walks with us!

Keys to Success:
Don’t be afraid. What we’re asking for is whatever people are willing to give. Be happy if it’s $1 or $1,000 as it’s all meaningful. We’re fundraising for a truly noble cause, to better the lives of those affected by Parkinson’s disease. If you instill the energy of belief and commitment into your fundraising efforts, it will only help the cause.

What I/We Love About the Unity Walk:
It’s truly an all-inclusive experience. We walk with people of all ages, from babies to grandparents, and even pets. There’s something special about everyone being able to participate together in something in this day and age. There’s wonderful camaraderie around the event, no bad vibes are allowed!
