The Parkinson Alliance Announces Debbie Ayers as Event Manager for the Parkinson’s Unity Walk

KINGSTON, N.J., October 4, 2018 — The Parkinson Alliance is pleased to welcome Debbie Ayers to the Parkinson’s Unity Walk as Event Manager, effective September 5, 2018.

Debbie Ayers has worked her entire career in the non-profit sector. She holds a Master of Management in Human Services with a concentration in Social Policy from The Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University in Waltham, MA. Moving from the Boston area to Pennington, NJ in 2003, she worked at the American Red Cross organizing hundreds of volunteers as Blood Services Coordinator. In 2009 she joined the American Society of Group Psychotherapy and Psychodrama (ASGPP), and most recently, she served as the Executive Director, a position she held for four years. A Massachusetts native, she has assisted the Massachusetts Committee for Children and Youth in Boston in the area of Board Development and worked at Massachusetts Social Service Agencies and the Concord-Carlisle School District as a Program Manager.

Debbie is very much looking forward to managing the Parkinson’s Unity Walk. At both the American Red Cross and ASGPP, she had significant event planning responsibilities including working with many volunteers to execute the events. Debbie is excited to continue our relationships with the Unity Walk teams, volunteers, donors, and sponsors, as well as develop new relationships. She believes very strongly in the mission of the Parkinson’s Unity Walk and is thrilled to serve the organization and raise funds for research. Debbie lives in Pennington with her husband, Mark, an oncology research scientist. Her daughter Rebecca is at Boston University, and son Jameson is at Fordham University.
