The 22nd Parkinson’s Unity Walk Raised More Than $1.4 Million for Parkinson’s Research

KINGSTON, N.J. (July 6, 2016) -- As a result of the 22nd Parkinson's Unity Walk, which took place on Saturday, April 23, 2016, over $1.4 million was raised.  The Parkinson's Unity Walk is the largest grassroots fundraiser for Parkinson's disease research in the country.  The annual 1.4 mile wheelchair accessible Walk around New York City’s Central Park unites thousands of participants from across the country and supporters from around the world.

Participation from our teams, walkers, and volunteers, as well as support from our donors and sponsors, enable the Unity Walk to raise funds and awareness for research into Parkinson's disease.  One hundred percent of this total number of donations will support critical research that is funded by the following seven U.S. Parkinson's foundations:

Donations will be distributed to these organizations so that they can fund research that will help move us closer to a cure.  On our website, we will post summaries of all research grants, as well as updates to studies that were funded last year.

The Unity Walk can't thank our supporters enough for supporting this year's event.  Until a cure is found, we will not stop working and walking together to keep funding critical research into Parkinson's disease.  The Unity Walk invites all to take a minute to Pledge to Walk in 2017.  By signing the pledge, supporters will be sent an email when we receive the date for the 2017 Parkinson's Unity Walk.

We hope that we can count on your pledge to continue to work toward a cure for Parkinson's disease.
