Overview: Current State of Parkinson’s Research Video

Since the first Parkinson’s Unity Walk (PUW) in 1994, over $12 million has been distributed towards Parkinson’s research (as of 2012/18th Walk). So what have we accomplished in the last few years?  Where are we today?  What is the state of Parkinson’s research?  We read and hear about breakthroughs every day— but what does that mean in the big picture?

We hope this video answers some of these questions.  The PUW is fortunate to have two of the world’s top doctors/researchers on their Board of Directors.  So please watch the following video as Dr. J. William Langston, CEO, Scientific Director, and Founder, Parkinson’s Institute; and Dr. Robert E. Burke, Director of the Udall Parkinson’s Disease Research Center at Columbia University; with an informal conversation on the state of Parkinson’s research today.

We hope this should give everyone hope that all your efforts and dollars are making a difference.  We are making great progress in understanding more about this disease and developing therapies to enhance the quality of life until we find the cure.  So please watch …
