Mansfield Junior Girl Scout Troops Roller Skating Fundraiser for Team Ryan

Two members of Team Ryan's Hope, Darlene Bertoldi and her daughter, Julia Bertoldi, organized  a Roller Skating Party Fundraiser with the help of Mansfield Junior Girl Scout Troops 1025 and 517. Darlene and Julia wanted to go beyond raising funds by asking their friends and family. They also wanted to raise awareness and educate. Darlene turned to Julia's Girl Scout Troop for ideas and they came up with a fundraising roller skating party. On Saturday, March 3, 2012 at the Villa Roller Skating Rink in Broadway, NJ, the Girl Scout Troops gathered for a couple hours of fun roller skating and roller blading. The girls raised $600 though ticket sales for the Parkinson's Unity Walk (PUW). They presented a check to John Ryan (Team Ryan's Hope) for $600 for PUW after a 30 minute Q&A session with John about his life with Parkinson's Disease. This group of 10 year old girls are going to change the world in great ways and I am glad I could be part of it!
