Settlement Allows Medicare Coverage for Skilled Nursing and Therapy Services

(Kingston, NJ, November 7, 2012)  Encouraging health care related news for the Parkinson’s community!  People with chronic and degenerative health conditions may find it easier to qualify for certain Medicare coverage.  This is due to a proposed legal settlement of a class action lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services:  under the new policy, Medicare will cover skilled nursing and therapy services, necessary to maintain a person's condition.  Previously, when rehabilitation services were required, Medicare benefits were denied due to coverage being dependent on improvement of conditions.
