Team Cantore's 4th Annual "Countrified Rock for Research"

On Thursday, October 25, 2007, TEAM CANTORE hosted their 4th Annual "Countrified Rock for Research" Concert featuring 3 time NSAI "Songwriter of the Year" and 2007 "BMI Songwriter of the Year" Jeffrey Steele. This annual event has become the cornerstone of Team Cantore's fundraising efforts. Team Captain, Tamra Cantore, (the winner of the 2007 Alan Bonander Humanitarian and Advocacy Award) who was recognized at the walk for leading her team over the past few years to raise over $325,000, was congratulated at this recent event as being the top fundraising team since the inception of the Parkinson’s Unity Walk.

This year, the event was hosted and sponsored by an incredible facility and catering organization called "The Pavillion" in East Cobb (Marietta, GA) along with sponsors, Jamestown Properties, Comcast Spotlight, Holiday Inn, Kicks Country 101.5, Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Three Ring Circus Music, USB Pharma and some anonymous sponsors. The venue was described as the best one yet, combining a more intimate setting for 300 attendees to enjoy the engaging style of their headliner, Jeffrey Steele, as well as their opening act, up and coming songwriter/entertainer, Walker Hayes.

“Every year, we have sold out all our premier seating before we can barely get our ticket order forms printed.” said Event co-chair, Tamra Cantore. She attributes their success to:

  • The event has always had a tremendous group of volunteers
  • Jeffrey Steele has a tremendous following and is an unbelievable entertainer and
  • Attendees feel good knowing 100% of what they pay to attend goes directly to research
Even though the venue held 200 less people this year TEAM CANTORE netted over $55,000 at this year’s event.
