Longtime PUW Supporter, Bill Thorson, Passes Away
WILLIAM L. THORSON [1937 – 2007]
THORSON – William L.Thorson aged 69, a retired IBM executive of Chappaqua, NY died on Sunday, April 1 2007 in Croton, NY after a long courageous struggle with Parkinson’s Disease. Bill was born in Huron, South Dakota. He graduated from the University of North Dakota and then received an MBA from the University of Arizona. He joined IBM and after serving in the US Army rejoined IBM where he held a number of different positions in the sales organization. He devoted himself to organizations raising funds for research on Parkinson's Disease and supporting those with the disease. He founded the Parkinson's Support Group of Westchester and served as its leader for over 20 years. He is survived by his wife Susan, daughter Jennifer and brother Robert of Chicago. A memorial service will be held at Scarborough Presbyterian Church, Route 9, Briarcliff Manor, NY on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at 11:00 am.
