An Important Event Update from our Executive Director
We look forward to welcoming everyone for the 19th Parkinson's Unity Walk on Saturday, April 27th in New York City's iconic Central Park, while our thoughts are also with Boston.
We understand that there might be concern following the tragic event at the Boston Marathon. New York's finest New York City Police Department (NYPD) will be at Central Park, as well as our own private security. However, we must all be observant and if you "see something, say something" to our staff, security, or the NYPD.
While we move forward in our planning of event logistics, we are always conscious of security issues at our event, particularly this year, and regularly engage a private security company to provide services at our annual Parkinson's Unity Walk, throughout the event area and on the actual Walk route. In light of this week’s current event, we have already arranged for increased security coverage at the Walk.
I am looking forward to all of you joining me as we take another step forward to eradicate Parkinson's disease. Let's have the best Walk day ever!
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our team.
Thank you for your continued support,
Carol J. Walton
