Team Kelty Takes Raising Awareness of Parkinson's Disease to "New Heights."
Tim Long, a member of the Unity Walk’s Team Kelty, is featured on The Weather Channel’s “Iron Men”, a television show about the rebuilding of the World Trade Center towers. Look for him in his yellow Team Kelty t-shirt on their website and promotional photos. (See photo to the left.)
Tim walks in honor of his sister, Kathleen Ryan who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2003. (Read Kathleen's Guest Post on our blog.) Kathleen and her husband first attended the Unity Walk in 2004 and Team Kelty was created the following year. They have been going strong ever since and have raised over $50,000 to date for Parkinson’s research funded by the Unity Walk.
Most of us don’t get to be featured on a television show or help rebuild the World Trade Center but there are an endless number of ways to raise awareness about Parkinson’s disease and the Unity Walk. So join in and help spread the word!
