PUW Announces 2011 Prize Winners
The Parkinson’s Unity Walk appreciates the fundraising efforts of ALL of our fundraisers and knows that it takes the contributions of thousands of people to raise funds for the Unity Walk. This year, almost 18,000 donors raised over $1.5M for Parkinson’s research!
At the same time, we are pleased to announce four prizes to our top fundraisers. The Walk takes place in April but donations continue to come in until June. We use those final numbers in June to determine our winners.
Team captain of the top fundraising team – Jim McNasby, team captain of Team McMoss has achieved this distinction for the second year in a row by raising $66,838!
Top individual fundraiser who is not a team captain – Ryan and Jann Elliott of Team Heartland Brewery raised $10,270. They more than doubled their initial goal of $5,000! Ryan is the former team captain of Team Heartland Brewery but he has since turned the baton over to his brother Greg.
Top Rookie Team - Team Kohan raised $17,713! Their presence at this year’s Walk in their bright green t-shirts was as strong as their financial contribution.
Raffle drawing for all team captains whose team who raised $2500 or more – Jennifer Wilson, team captain of Speedy’s Crew. Her team raised $4560 for the Unity Walk. This is her team’s third year at the Walk and they walk in honor of her father, Bob Honadel. He is Speedy of “Speedy’s Crew”.
