Parkinson's Unity Walk Newest Member:
Trina Stokes, Event Manager
The Parkinson's Unity Walk is proud to announce Trina Stokes as the Walk's new Event Manager. Trina brings considerable skills, a fresh enthusiasm, and a dedicated work ethic that is sure to benefit all those associated with the Walk.Trina's enlightenment of Parkinson's disease began while she was a Senior Sales Manager employed with the Hyatt Regency Princeton. "Three years ago I sought out options to volunteer my time within the corporate community in which I worked. Through this initiative I became acquainted with a committee that was formed by commercial real estate broker Jerry Fennelly, NAI Fennelly & Associates, and his family. This committee, in cooperative with the Parkinson Alliance, was formed to coordinate a 5K race in Princeton, New Jersey to raise funds for research. This is where I met Margaret Tuchman (President of the Parkinson Alliance) and Carol Walton (Unity Walk Board Member). My three year association as a committee member began the journey to educate myself about the Parkinson's disease."
At the 2002 October 5K race, Trina learned the Parkinson Unity Walk was interviewing candidates for the position of Event Manager. Trina contacted the Unity Walk to express an interest in the position. While many candidates with excellent skills were considered, it was the balance of Trina's business background and her eagerness to be associated with a cause she truly believes in that made her a perfect candidate for the position.
Trina adds, "The Parkinson's Unity Walk demonstrates how the community can join together to reach a common goal-raising funds for research to help find a cure to Parkinson's. I am eager to be a associated with a devoted group of people to plan and coordinate an event like no other."
The Unity Walk welcomes Trina Stokes, and Trina looks forward to uniting everyone on April 26, 2003 and each year afterwards until we ultimately celebrate the cure to Parkinson's.
