March 2009

As April 25th approaches, I'm feeling the usual pre-Walk excitement. This year is a special one, because it marks our 15th Walk, a milestone of sorts.

Fifteen years ago, Parkinson's was a little known disease. "Parkinson's? What's that?" asked my employer when I confided in him that I had the disease. On the one hand, I was glad that my job was not at risk.  But on the other hand, I knew that as long as PD remained a hidden disease it would be an underfunded one.

The world of Parkinson's has changed a great deal since then, in large part due to your efforts. New avenues of research have opened up, giving us new hope for a cure.  Our work is more important then ever.

See you on the 25th!

Love,

Margot
