Margot Zobel, the Founder and Director of the Parkinson's Unity Walk will share Parkinson's related news and insights on a periodic basis.

January 2005

"What will the world be like in 2020?" This was the question a TV station recently asked its viewers.

Although I don't have 20/20 vision (sorry, I couldn't resist the pun), I'll make a couple of my own predictions.

First, there will be no new cases of PD by 2020. Researchers will have tracked down the cause(s) of Parkinson's and formulated the means to prevent it.

Second, for those who are already afflicted with PD, there will be treatment options that will work almost as well as a cure in alleviating the symptoms.

Third, stem cell research will have led to "miracle" treatments for a number of "incurable" conditions. And that is just the beginning.

What will make my predictions become realities? You know the answer:

Fund the Research — Find the Cure

See you in Central Park on Saturday, April 16th for the Parkinson's Unity Walk.

Love,
Margot
