Margot Zobel, the Founder and Director of the Parkinson's Unity Walk will share Parkinson's related news and insights on a periodic basis.

October 2004

If you have Parkinson's disease, many habits that used to come naturally now require special effort. For instance, standing tall, walking with a swing, speaking clearly; even remembering to smile. You've probably gotten pretty good at remembering to practice all of these on a regular basis.

There's one more thing to remember: Hope. It is as vital to your well-being as food and drink. Hope is your vision of the best possibilities the future may bring: the vision that gives you the courage to live through each day, and the drive and energy to try just a little bit harder.

Hope is contagious. Your family and friends will catch it, and they'll bounce it back to you. We can't know what the future will bring, but if we hope for the best, it may just happen.
