Painting with a Purpose

I wanted to come up with an idea to raise money that didn’t feel like a typical fundraiser so I called the owner of Painting with a Twist (PWAT) in Scarsdale. Once I made the call, she did all the rest. This three-hour event combined FUNdraising with art and your imagination. No experience was required to create a painting worthy to hang in your home. I had many paintings from which to choose and selected tulips because it is the PD symbol.

My friends registered online.  The cost was $35.  As a private party, 50% was donated by PWAT! There is also the choice of making the fundraiser public. I used my PUW personal donation page, my email, my personal and team Facebook pages, and the PWAT website to advertise the event.  Next time, I will add an incentive to bring more people. We served finger foods and sold raffles from various restaurants. In addition, we sold raffles for gift baskets that were donated by friends with direct sales businesses and the grand prize was climbing lessons! The event was a great deal of fun and we raised over $500 with fewer than 20 people.
