Team Nashville

Read on to learn more about Gayle and David Maloney’s resourcefulness as they worked together to create a fundraiser that combined a concert, dinner and silent auction. Any one of these can be a successful stand-alone fundraiser or, depending on your available time and energy, you can combine them for a “triple play” just as Team Nashville has.

“It takes a village” and Team Nashville enlisted their local “village” to support their cause. For example, the dinner was provided through a combination of food purchased by the Maloneys and prepared by them, their family and a friend who is a chef and donated his time, as well as several dishes that were donated by a local caterer and restaurant.

Playing for Parkinson's: An Evening with Callaghan

On Saturday December 8, 2012, we hosted a concert, dinner, and silent-auction fundraiser for Parkinson's disease research in support of Team Nashville’s fundraising efforts on behalf of the  Parkinson's Unity Walk.

Now living in Nashville, British-born Callaghan is a singer-songwriter who released her first album Life in Full Colour in 2012.  Callaghan’s music can be found on iTunes, Pandora, and on her website www.callaghansongs.com

Held at our home in Nashville, Tennessee, Playing for Parkinson's: An Evening with Callaghan, raised more than $8,600 for Parkinson’s disease research. Over $3200 of that amount was raised through the silent auction.

More than 55 guests attended the event on a rainy night in December.  The event and silent auction was supported by more than 30 Nashville-area donors including Callaghan, who donated part of the proceeds from CD sales and hand-written lyrics of one of her songs.

Everyone enjoyed the evening of live music and food prepared by chef Don Dean and supported by Macke’s Restaurant and Chefworks catering.  The silent auction was a huge success.

Thank you to all our sponsors who supported this event.
