Congratulations to Michael DeGeorge of Team Light of Day Foundation! He won the PUW email challenge week #3 by sending 199 emails from his PUW headquarters during that week. Those emails have paid off - he has raised $1149 as a result of those emails. We hope all of our walkers keep the momentum going through May 28th. That is the cutoff date for accepting donations to the 2012 Unity Walk.

Who are you walking for?
I am walking to support my Dad, Joe DeGeorge and my friend Bob Benjamin who both have Parkinson’s.

Why I walk.
I started participating in the Walk in 2006 to support my Dad, Joe DeGeorge and my friend Bob Benjamin, both of whom have Parkinson’s. It was that year that I joined Bob’s organization, Light of Day Foundation as a member of their Board of Directors.

How many years have you participated in the Unity Walk?
I started participating in the Unity Walk in 2006 as a member of the Light of Day team.  So, I have participated for 6 years.

A favorite memory or experience at the Walk.
I have a fond memory of Bob Benjamin receiving the Alan Bonander Humanitarian Award.  Bob is one of the toughest individuals I have ever met. He does not let Parkinson’s stop him from living.

I am part of a great grass roots organization called the Light of Day Foundation, that organizes events throughout the year in the US, Canada and Europe, to raise money for Parkinson’s research.  Please visit our website to see our upcoming events and help us ”KNOCK OUT” Parkinson’s!!!
